New Player

Palm Creek Softball Association  - New Player Orientation

Steps to become a league player

1) Contact Your Club Rep.  They will help guide you through the process.  (Click Here for the Club Rep Page)

2) Sign a Liability Waiver form before practicing or playing on the field.  At Palm Creek there are blank forms in the tower.  These forms are available to be signed online during the season signup process.

3) Obtain a Player Assessment Rating.  Your Club Rep will arrange an assessment and to assign a Player Rating.  The Club Rep will ensure that you have sufficient skills to participate in the league.  The Rating will be used during the draft process.

4) Create a SportsEngine Account.  The account is needed to include you in the player communication process.

Click here to Create a Sports Engine Account

Once you have an account, you will tie your account to our website.  Becoming a member of a SportsEngine website connects your profile with Palm Creek Softball. Once you are a member, we will be able to easily communicate with you and you can access our website.

5) Season Signup/substitute signup.  Prior to the Season, everyone who has created a SportsEngine Account will receive a communication from the League to signup to play for the upcoming season.  Those who do not complete the process prior to the signup cutoff will be placed on a substitute roster.  Coaches will use the substitute roster to fill teams on a game day basis and to maintain team roster minimums.

Safety - Safety is a priority for the Association.  Too often, when a player has not played softball for years, they feel they can jump right back into playing without preparing their body for the sport.  The player gets hurt, and then begins an exercise routine to recuperate.  Our suggestion is to start the conditioning program before stepping onto the field.  If you do not have a regular conditioning program, this link may be helpful to get started.  Also, talk with experienced players about how they protect themselves and perform their conditioning.  Your goal should be to experience a complete ball season with limited pain and injuries.  You should know your limits and be there for your team for the entire season.

In addition, there are senior softball and Palm Creek Softball League rules designed to reduce injuries.  Your coach will go over these rules with you.
